Premiered at the “Open Stage” Festival 2006
Meir, a confirmed bachelor and literature lecturer, needs help from his mother Reizele: he’s just learned he has kidney disease and wants to sell her apartment. But she reveals the existence of mysterious relatives who might be able to help with a transplant. Meir had no idea his mother, a Holocaust survivor, still had any family, and meeting this “new family” holds a big surprise.
A moving drama infused with humor, about small families and extended families, about a bargain of songs in exchange for a kidney, and about a hot cup of tea that always saves the day even when all hope seems lost.
