Five teenagers are driving home from their high-school graduation party, on the threshold of a new stage in their lives. The ride ends in an accident, and this is where the story begins: This unexpected situation sets off a process that exposes personal fears, emotional and sexual tensions, rivalries and friendships, ways of thinking and patterns of loyalty. Sociopolitical reality intrudes into their personal lives as prejudices and anxieties surface and opposing worldviews collide. The play’s protagonists, Spider, Jessica, Michael, Daphne and Eli, are sharply and clearly drawn, with depth and a touching sense of humor.
